What We Have Been Up To!

We LOVE the ducks! They come to our backyard to visit, we go to the pond to visit them. He hasn't quite decided what to think of them yet, but they definitely like him :)

First Steps!

It really happened! Our little rascal took his first steps today and I can't believe it... he is growing up SO FAST! We didn't get an action shot of it, because he was walking from me to Mark, but I will take one soon and post it. It is so fun to watch him learn and discover the world around him. He is into everything and letting his little personality shine! I just love our little munchkin!

We are so excited for SPRING!

Beckam LOVES being outside. Every time he hears the door crack open he makes a run for it... we are so glad Spring has Sprung! We can't wait to spend many sunny days outside with our little rascal!

He's On the Move!

Our lives have never been so busy! We love this little munchkin! Every day is a new adventure with him and he is FEARLESS! He loves to scale the rod of the chair to get to the TV screen, climb into the lid drawer and then climb out of it, pull himself up into the fridge and get his sippy cup, and climb into the dishwasher to get his spoons so he can bang them together. He is all boy and totally curious about the world around him!

Oh I LOVE this little guy! I am so thankful for every moment we get to play together... YAY for little boys!

Tough.

This morning I dropped our little guy off to a babysitter (our sweetest friend Sherrie... thanks dear), because Mark needed to do some practicum hours at the high school. WOW! It is so hard for me to leave him with someone other than Mark or my sister. I am so thankful that Mark has been able to be at home with him for the majority of this school year. What an amazing blessing to bond with his sweet daddy!

I am thankful for the job that I have, and the security it provides for our family, but I am so looking forward to this summer when I can spend endless hours going on walks with our little angel, playing outside, eating rocks (he tried that the other day:), going swimming, enjoying the sunshine, and watching our sweet little boy discover life! What a fun time of life this is... I am trying to soak in every minute of everyday! I am the LUCKIEST girl in the world!

These pictures are a bit out of order... but what a WONDERFUL first birthday for our little man! We had SO MUCH fun! We started the day with a good long nap, then we opened some presents, next we went to lunch at Chili's! He received the royal treatment of:

- french fries
- his very own orange juice
- his very own chocolate milkshake!

We had so much fun celebrating our little boy and his first year of life! We finished his birthday with a bang! We had a family party and it was so much fun! He opened lots of gifts (thanks everyone :) and dug right into his Elmo cake. This little guy had NO reservations about attacking and filling his mouth full of sugary sweetness! He is such a smart little boy!

As I have reflected on this past year, I am filled with so much wonder, amazement, complete awe, and LOVE for our little angel! He has brought a whole new meaning to our family and we feel so BLESSED to be his parents. He truly is the light of our lives! He keeps us on our toes and always laughing! We love you little Bubs! Thanks for bringing so much joy into our lives!

Happy Birthday Eve!

Happy Birthday Eve to our sweet little boy! We stayed up late tonight and made a cake from scratch, decorated it by hand, and now we are tuckered out! We are SO EXCITED to celebrate his first birthday tomorrow! What an exciting time... I can't wait to watch him dig into his cake and destroy it!




This was my first time decorating a cake and it is a lot of work! I am very happy with how it turned out :)

Oh How I LOVE this Little Guy!

Our lives have taken on a whole new meaning the past few months! He is into everything and we LOVE it!
This is his favorite place to be... if we let him! As soon as the fridge door opens he takes off as fast as his little legs will carry him and tries to get inside. Today he succeeded!

I can't believe it! My baby boy is turning one on Friday! I am so excited for this milestone, but also feel a little sad. He is growing up so fast right before our eyes! We thank our Heavenly Father each day that he has given us such a precious little soul to raise! He brings so much joy and happiness into our lives!

He has been very busy lately! He has been...

- crawling like a mad man
- laughing like crazy
- screaming lots (any advice on how to stop that?)
- pulling himself up on everything
- wanting to eat everything we eat
- interacting with kids, people at the grocery store, students in the hallway, etc.
- adored by all of my students
- getting into mischief
- crawling up the stairs and still learning how to go down them... he tried face first today and actually came out all right!
- got his first tooth last week
- ticklish all over
- loves being outside
- loves hanging out with mom and dad

I am loving every new stage he enters! I am so thankful to have such a happy, healthy, and sweet little boy! At times I wish I could freeze the moments and stay in them forever... We are having so much fun! I will post soon about the big birthday bash and other exciting events!

Week of L.O.V.E

YAY for Valentine's Day! I don't think you should HAVE to have a holiday to celebrate how much you love someone, but it sure makes for a fun time with lots of cute decorations and fun surprises! I decided to celebrate this week of L.O.V.E by doing something sweet for my sweetheart each day. Today it started with a Valentine dinner complete with fun V-day glasses, napkins, Mark's favorite dinner, and a pink raspberry julius for dessert! YUM! (only problem: I forgot to take pictures!)

On another note... I am the LUCKIEST! Mark surprised me last week with a dozen long stem red roses delivered to my classroom! I am so in love with that man! He treats me like a queen everyday and I am so grateful I get to be his best friend forever! LOVE you babe!
