Splish Splash!

Our cute family - me at 37 weeks!

How about 2 lower bowl Jazz tickets for $60? We totally scored those at the silent auction that was held at the Aquatic Center. Chelsee helped with a fundraising event for the Willow Park Zoo in July and they had free Chic-fil-a sandwiches, snowies, drinks, and Beck loved swimming and trying out the slide with Daddy! We are so excited for our first Jazz game together!

What we have been up to...

We got to spend time with my sister's family while they were up in Logan for a soccer tournament and Beck had so much fun seeing his cousins.  We went to lunch at Firehouse while they were here and Beck loved playing with TaeLynn and Jaycee.
I love summer rain storms and couldn't pass up the chance to take this large belly outside and dance in the rain with my little buddy.  I think I am around 37 weeks in this picture... large and in charge and ready to burst!
I love his many expressions!
We LOVE Lexe!  I posted earlier about this amazing girl and we were so lucky to have her stop by and visit us in Logan.  My aunt Laurie and Lex were dropping off her little sister Hadlee at EFY and they were able to stop by and see us.  Lexe had just finished her second round of chemo in her fight against leukemia and we felt so lucky to have her here with us for a short visit.
Beckam loves his "Leskee"!  She is such an amazing example to us of strength and perserverance.  We are so thankful she is still with us and look forward to having her here for a long time.
We love you Lex!
Beck loves his cousin Carson!  He thinks he is pretty much the coolest kid around.  We are so glad he had some much needed cousin time this summer.

Summer Fun

During July we spent a few days working in Mark's classroom to help him get ready for his first year of school.  Beck was very entertained with strips of paper and a fan. I sure do love this little guy!
I love this face! This is how we all felt after a few hours spent in Mark's classroom. With no a/c it is so darn hot!
I love my boys! We picked up Daddy and took him to lunch to celebrate his last day of work at Mount Logan Middle School. His job as a custodian was a great way to help us get through school, but he is so glad he no longer has to scrub toilets and clean up after middle schoolers!

Every summer growing up we would have a slip n slide party with the Brown dide of my family. we still get to enjoy this awesome reunion every year and we love it! This year was especially fun, because Beck was old enough to enjoy it!  Below is Mark and Beck making their way up the hill.

Trying it out for the first time. At first Beck wasn't so sure about the whole thing.
After a few times down the slide he decided it was actually way fun!
Hanging out with his favorite Aunt Chels, he sure loves her! :)

Pregnancy

We have 3 more weeks to go and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of this sweet little boy! I am 36 weeks and definitely feeling large and miserable. This pregnancy has actually been better than Beck's but the end stretch has been a bit tricky. I was diagnosed gestational diabetic at 32 weeks and I have gained so much respect for those who deal with this healthy condition always. My cute Grandpa is a miracle to me... He has been able to control his diabetes strictly through diet. Amazing! This new situation has definitely transformed my diet and helped me recognize my own willpower. I have been able to keep my blood sugar levels in a healthy range and for that I am grateful. Our litte guy is so active! I love feeling him move and know that he is doing well. One risk that increases with gd is having a stillborn. That has made me SO paranoid and constantly aware! So far so good and we pray that everything will continue to go well. Every movement is reassuring to say the least! I haven't been able to indulge my cravings for awhile now, but at the beginning I loved guacamole, chocolate milkshakes, and sweet crisp grapes. Now my favorite low carb foods are beef jerky, string cheese, laughing cow cheese with ritz, and the very best - apples with peanut butter. Most of all I am really looking forward to holding this little angel and no longer being pregnant! I feel so many emotions about the near future... I am so excited for our sweet little baby, our new jobs, and all the wonderful moments with a new bundle of joy. Nervous for all of the upcoming changes. Apprehensive about caring for a newborn again... Mark says it will be just like riding a bike and it will all come back to me... Lets hope so! Hopeful the baby blues wont last too long, and I feel like I am going to miss my Beckam and me time. Is it normal to feel this way? The countdown is on!

Our Happy Life!

I can't believe how fast times flies!  Beckam is going to be 3 1/2 when the baby comes and he is so much fun!  He is turning into Mr. Independent and always wants to help.  We can often hear him say, "My turn" or "Geckam's turn!"  He is so full of life and so friendly to everyone he sees... sometimes I wish he was a little less friendly.

I want to keep track of all he is doing so this list is not intended to be a bragging list, just an update on all that is Beckam at the moment.  He loves to help with the dishes, gets into the car all on his own, tries to dress himself, and anything else that seems like an independent thing to do at the moment.  He can say his ABC's, count to 20 (kind of), LOVES to read, loves watching a show, has the best dance moves, can sing most Primary songs by heart, says his own prayers (one of my favorite things to listen to), says "please" and "thank you," and is so kind.  The other day we were at the park and he was trying to get his flip flop on while in the sandbox, but he was getting squished by another boy.  At first he had a look of frustration and then he politely said, "Excusa me."  It seriously warmed my heart and made me so thankful for such a kind hearted little boy.  He brings so much happiness to my life everyday and I am thankful beyond words to be his mother.  We sure do love you Beck!
We love going to the Whittier Center Park to play and play and play!  Beck loves the sandbox and is perfectly content to lay, roll, and throw sand on himself.  He is such a crazy little man, but we sure do LOVE him!
Just hanging out with his Daddy.  He sure does love this guy!

Beck is a pro big wheel bike rider!  He loves riding his bike and has recently figured out how to slide on tight corners.

Hanging out with some of our favorite people.  We had a fun Memorial Day BBQ with the Garb's and the Hall's.  Beck loves hanging out with his friends and thanks to Stef we had some extra fun with bubbles.  Beck loved it!

Beck and his little girlfriend Scarlett.  These two LOVE playing together!  Beck wasn't sure what to think at first when Scarlett hopped onto the back of his bike, but then he realized it wasn't so bad giving her a ride and they had a ball.

Doing one of this favorite things with one of his most favorite people.  Beck loves to play ball with his Daddy.  He asks multiple times a day and is happy to play it in the house, up and down the stairs, outside, against the house, or in his kiddy pool.  I must say he does have some pretty mad skills.

Why not celebrate Christmas in May?  He found this hat the other day as we were cleaning and de-junking his room.  He had it on all day... such a rascal!
One of our summer traditions is to get snow cones... we love this family outing so much!  Beck usually requests blue with some other color and is so happy to now be big enough to have his very own.  We love a good snow cone :)

Our First Official Family Vacation!

We took off on our first official family vacation at the beginning of June and we had so much fun!  Our first stop was to one of our favorite places... Taggart's Grill.
Our next stop was Heber City/Midway and we had so much fun staying in Mark's sister's condo.  Thanks Jan for letting us hang out with your sweet family and enjoy beautiful Midway.
Beck got to hang out with one of his favorite cousins... Shiloh!  They had so much fun together and we loved our time with Jan and Jimmy.

Our condo had a big jetted tub and Beck was in heaven!  He loved taking a bath with lots of bubbles and enjoying some splash time.
These two had so much fun swimming together.  I wanted to get in with them so bad, but this pregnant belly of mine doesn't have a swimsuit :)
Mark's sister Jan and Shiloh... she is such a wonderful person!
I can't get enough of these two rascals.  I am so thankful for the amazing man I am married to!  He is definitely the best decision I have ever made and I am so thankful for the way that he loves Beckam and me.  He truly is amazing!

Beck learning some swimming skills from his cute Dad.

Beck loved the chance to swim in the pool and then dip his feet into the hot tub which has natural hot spring water.
The view from our condo... beautiful!

We had to find a park and "play toys" as Beck calls it.  It is so fun to watch him try new things and discover his many abilities.  We are so blessed to have such a cute little munchkin with one on the way!

He is such a stud :)  This is how we found him after he was out of the bath.  Just chillin like a villain!
Our condo had the coolest spiral staircase and loft.  Beck loved going up and down, up and down.
Just my sweetie showing off his best side :)
Up and down, up and down!  He thought the loft was his territory and he was pretty thrilled to be sleeping in a new house.
Such a fun place to vacation.  Here we are our cute family of three soon to be four.  This is me and the babe at 29 weeks.
Oh how we love our Lexe!  She is truly a rockstar and we are so thankful for her strength and example.  She was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myleoid Leukemia) on April 20th.  She had so many exciting things right around the corner, her 18th birthday, graduation from Alta High, and she had signed with University of Arizona to play soccer with them starting in July.  She is now fighting for her life and just finished her second round of chemo.  She is one of the most amazing girls I know and I am so thankful for her amazing attitude and perspective.  Beckam thinks she is the greatest and LOVED his time playing ball and jumping with Lexe.
We love you Lex and are praying for you!  You will kick Leukemia!
Beck also got to see and spend time with his Grandma and Grandpa.  He loves these two so much and they are such great examples to us.  They are serving a mission for the church at the Church Office Building.  Mom is the medical screener for all senior couples and Dad is the office manager.  They just started at the first of June and Beck loves going to see them.  He often says, "Grandma and Grandpa live by the temple and Follow the Prophet."  Thanks Mom and Dad for your wonderful example and for being such an amazing support to our family.  We love you!
City Creek is such a fun place to visit!  We definitely need to spend more time there, we were kind of at the end of our rope I was swelling up like a balloon and Beck was tired beyond belief.  That must mean we had a great time on our first official family vacation!
